This is the game you've been waiting for. The one that takes you back to when table-top role playing games immersed you in another world, a world of danger, thrills, magic, and imagination.
Best of all, it's also a game you can play with your best friends -- or with your children. |
We say Triad: The Game is three games in one, but actually, it's much, much more. Each game can be played several different ways!
Triad: The Board Game can be played by the whole family. From 2 to 9 players, ages 6 and up, can spend anywhere from an hour to all evening having endless adventures. It's different every time you play it!
Triad: Chess can be played as a standard 3-way chess game, or as Triad Battle Chess.
Triad: the Role-Playing Game can be played three ways: as the Simplified version, where you become one of the all-powerful "Fey" in control of an entire Triad; the Advanced version, where you become a single, heroic member of a Triad; the armored Cavalier, crafty Ranger, or powerful Mystic; the Squad Wars version, where you command a squad of 10 or more warriors and battle to win in exciting historical or fantasy scenarios.

Q: Can I play something other than a Cavalier, Ranger, or Mystic in the Advanced RPG?
A: Absolutely. Cavaliers and Rangers are both members of the Warrior class; you can roll up a Warrior with a combination of skills, if you character has yet to make up his or her mind as to what they wish to become. As your Triad characters grow and max out in skills, they become able to learn the skills of the other Triad members, eventually capable of becoming Ironlords -- the great Mystic Warriors of Tir na n'Og. If, however, you plan on playing a thief, you can use any of the character types except for a Cavalier, but you'd best be willing to pay the consequences. Don't let a Cavalier catch you doing it! Most Cavaliers will kill you immediately. If, on the other hand, you're captured by the city guard, you might just have your hands chopped off. In the real world, thieves have never been well-tolerated in any culture.
Q: Do I have to use or buy special figures to play this game?
A: No. You can use any figures you have that are close to 25 mm scale. HO plastic figures can be used, especially in the Squad Wars games, and up to 35mm figures can be used in the Board, Chess, or RPG games. Just remember, the scale of 25 mm was designed to be proportionate to standard 1" hexes, which are used on the Battle Grids. The old Ral Partha and Citadel pieces are equivalent to a 6' character.
Q: If I have standardized pieces on the Chess Board, what is their Health value?
A: If you would rather use generic Warriors, Squires, Knights, and Warlord and Consort (or Mystic), rather than pulling characters from the game book with pre-established numbers, you Chess pieces' Health would be as follows:
Warriors = 3 Squires = 4 Knights = 5 Warlord and Consort = 6 Mystic = 4
Warriors = 3 Squires = 4 Knights = 5 Warlord and Consort = 6 Mystic = 4
Q: If my character dies, can the Temple of Ohma bring him or her back?
A: No. There is no resurrection by the Temple in this game. However, depending on your Game Master (in the RPG), a Greater Fey could intervene and possibly grant your character an extension. The Powers (you'll learn about them in the game) seriously caution against this. The consequences of your actions are part of the learning experience of playing this game. So it's better to just go with the flow and roll up another character.
